A new adventure has surprisingly opened on the main street of any Poptropica island. You can go down to the islands to embark on a short yet perhaps epic quest

Something obviously that will make you get down in the dirt and filth. What’s that costume he’s wearing? And wth is that thing he’s holding? Only you can find out!

New features have also come out for the Poptropica app. Remember that app that was for free? Well now you can get two more islands/features. Ghost Story Island and SOS Island guides will be available for full purchase. So if you’re stuck on either of those islands, you know where to go

 

Ever hear the old saying that if you get bit by a vampire, you eventually turn into one? A frightening scenario. Perhaps that’s just what will happen on…Vampire Curse Island. The name itself perhaps implifies a premium of chills and thrills. Definitely not for the faint hearted…but then again, Poptropica is meant for all ages big and small, meaning that perhaps this island won’t be as fright filled as it seems. Or perhaps it very well will.

Rainbow Dash’s first guess on the island, based on the name itself, is something to do with turning into a vampire. Perhaps its lethal bite causes you to grow into one, and you must find some sort of cure and at the same time run from vampire hunters? Definitely not your typical island.

Of course, before I go, just a little bit of something on the comical side.

You better take Fluttershy before you embark on this spoooky quest…ha ha…RD dashing off.

The creators posted two new posts this week. The first being an attachment you can recieve during the SOS Island Quest. This attachment is a sonar monitor that may help you monitor anyone that even sets foot to you.

Pretty cool, huh?

Secondly a new sneak peek just came out! This one is titled: “It was a dark and stormy night…” The creators describe inspiration from something for this new island…Guess what it is? The “Dark and Stormy” night part was from a popular book in the Peanuts Series…so another Charlie Brown Island?

It obviously shows the shades of a cow and a farm. Interesssttinnnggg.

On another note, today I just had a hilarious incident in humanities 6/7 period today. We were watching a pg13 scene from a movie corresponding to the story we had finished in our lit books, and then the teacher was like “wouldn’t it be funny if the principle just walks in right now?” Well the vice principal actually walked in…and he didn’t like what he found…derp

Super Bowl 2012 will oficially begin this coming Sunday. To celebrate the game spirit, the creators have prepared for us a special little costume to match the football attire. The new costume as usual costs 75 credits

Which one will you choose? Either Patriot black or giants blue? Pick your choice in this new selection! You can change color.  I personall am rooting for the Patriots, but that’s just me . Have fun at the game, folks!

Yes, as mentioned, the new SOS island is oficially released to the public. Very big deal to the Poptropica community. Members also have an exclusive access to an indept second story full with unprecedented twists and turns. So you can expect everyone to be out solving the synopsis of both tales as players set foot onto the new island.

What also came a bit earlier were the special Members Only packs. As you may have noticed, these come out with nearly every island. The sonar power lets you track your motion radar and see what other CPU’s or players are coming near you. The fishing pole is another nifty accessory that goes along with the theme of the island. Then of course you have your captain’s costume, dressed in full naval regalia. Splendid.

If you’re still reading this, you’re probably very excited. In this case, I recommend you go and feed it by treating yourself by taking a full dosage of the new SOS Island. So leave this page, and go beat that island

Just of recent a few new products have apparently been released into Poptropica’s Zazzle.com store. For all your viewing conveniences, it could be found here. They got everything Poptropica related for you die hard fans. Shirts, wall graphics, iPhone decorators. Name it, they got it.

These “few new products” include a multiplicity and assortment of posters. There’s only three made, but at least they got ‘em so far.

• Poptropica Characters

Simple, slick, explainitive…perfect. A picture can explain a thousand words after all. First up we got our Island Map poster. Needed to know any of the island layouts? No prob, bro. This’ll get you up to date with everything. It’s got every island in order and up to exact date, large scaled print size, and some cool looking graphics. Next up we got the medallions. Shiny, gold, and up to date as well. Almost looks like some sorta trophy chest had it not been on printed paper. Finally we have a group pic of all the hotshot characters in the game. Captain Crawfish, Dr. Hare, you name it as well.

For each picture you can select between sizes. You either pick small, medium or large. Prices vary. Then you can choose what kind of paper you want it on – Value Poster Paper, Premium Canvas, etc. Again, prices will vary. You can also see snapshots/images of how this looks on your room framed and all. Lastly, you can even get it framed for a low low price of starting at 85.30 dollars. A little overboard, creators? This isn’t a Nobel Peace Prize xD.

Before I go, some of you may have lost me somewhere upon seeing the guy posting was titled “Rainbow Dash”. Yeah, sounds feminine, I know. That’s because on a quick other note before I end this post: yeah, I changed my name to Rainbow Dash. My old name was EP if some of you remember me posting. And I also changed my profile appearance picture to “Rainbow Dash” from The My Little Pony series. Shock. I know. And very bluntly, that’s because I’ve actually started watching the MLP: Friendship is Magic show. My first question is going to be probably this: why? I don’t know in truth, mainly because ponies are pretty epic, especially when they’re potrayed in some 7 year old’s cartoon. So I guess I’m just saying this to let you know basically that I got my identity and name changed on all my online users, that I won’t be online very much for the next few months mainly because of this and other things like MLP outside of this online community, and I’m most likely not going to be posting in awhile or never so often in truth. Just please don’t mistake me for a new author or something, since RD isn’t. So that’s it, my little note. Poptropica is currently in an “under construction” enviroment. Here’s a short update from the admin to detail the new upcoming updates, which they have included in the sneak peeks. They only gave us one picture, but a picture, of course, is as good as a thousand words

If you look in the top game bar, you’ll see there’s an image of the player’s facial/visage appearances. What could this be? Hmmm…I wonder. Take your guesses now!

Anyways, the main point of this post was to get everyone to be informed. You’ve all probably heard of the SOPA and PIPa bills. Stop online piracy acts. As much as everyone would like to stop illegal pirated videos or books or such from getting on the web, this is an atrocious thing bound for calamity and discord. In other words, it’s called internet “censorship.” If a site has too much copyrighted material, the government can basically shut the site down completely. This is unfair in my opinion. Shutting any site down just because of these reasons can:

1. damage online activity

2. damage the economy, the internet is a major factor in economical growth.

3. Damage entertainment websites. Imagine if poptropica or lolcats got shut down just because they accidentely incorporated some bad material in it.

Anyways, that being said, it’s not the government’s job to censor the internet and block these things. It is the company’s job to prosecute the owners of the illegal videos. In fact, many websites are protesting. Google.com is an example. You can visit any other of these websites and you’ll see they’ve all gone into protest mode: www.minecraft.net , www.wikipedia.org , www.morzilla.com , www.reddit.com

As for this website, we’re protesting as well. You’ll notice we’ve changed the header of the blog. It’s EP here on behalf of a variety of announcements. First off, Ghost Story Island is now available to all! The island was released to members awhile ago. Now it has been released oficially to members!

The creators gave out another clue to the new SOS island. So far we know it’s loosely based off of the 19th century Titanic frigate. Now they have released a photo detailing a unique underwater portion of the island

From the post we now know the ship’s name is Pequod. This is pretty cool. This portion of the game will allow you to dive underwater. Of course, you can also see there’s an oxeygon bar down in the bottom of the screen. You will probably need to fetch some items down from the sunk portion of the ship.

The creators posted a new trailer for their SOS island a few days ago. It appeared on the PCB concerning the long awaited island! Here it is!

 

 

As you can see, the trailer is lossely based off of the Titanic, as well know sinks and everyone had to escape in rowboats. The main plot is that you are on an ocean liner and apparently the ocean liner hits an ice berg. The inevitable happens, it begins to sink. Throughout the gameplay shown, you must: go underwater, fix the ship engines, and find a way out as you are stranded in the arctic ice caps.

 

Well, well, well. What have we here in this new PCB post? It’s a new year, and as ST mentioned: Happy New Year, everyone! Of course, now that that’s over with, Dr. Hare is at it again! Poptropica’s little evil minded genius will start once again this year to travel all over the world’s different locations.

The cat is obviously a motionless yet realistic prop…what museum could this be? I could think of one major one: The Smithsonian Instituition of Natural History. Long name indeed.
